Revelation 14:14-20

When I read this section I am struck by the force of 14:20. The treading of grapes is a common Old Testament symbol of God’s wrath. (Isaiah 63:3; Lamentations 1:15; Joel 3:13) Remember the line from the Battle Hymn of the Republic?

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on

And reminded that while our God is Holy, loving and our Heavenly Father, He still gets mad. And just like a Father He will punish.
What do you come away with from reading this section? Has your view of God changed as you have read this?
