Prayer is the sixth piece of armor listed in the Ephesians chapter. Often, it is overlooked and overshadowed by all the other armor, but it is the activator of it all. Prayer infuses our lives with power. It is the game changer.
Priscilla Shirer says, “Prayer is the mechanism that brings down the power of heaven into your experience. Prayer alerts the enemy to your awareness of his intentions while safeguarding you from his attacks. It is his (Satan’s) kryptonite. Unless prayer is a vital and thriving part of your life, you will never achieve spiritual victory.”
Prayer can be done in many ways. Prayers can be silent and in our minds and hearts. Prayers can be written or voiced out loud. Prayers can be with a group or when we are alone. Prayers can be memorized or created in the moment. It is healthy to pray in different ways. Take some time to pray with your spouse, child or friend. Practice praying out loud while you’re commuting to work or driving to the store. Write a prayer in your journal. God hears all prayers.
