1 Peter 1:4-5

Have you ever inherited something from a loved one? My grandfather gave me his shotgun (which I never shoot). When I see it or hold it, I think of him. God has given us an inheritance—eternal life. When we consider our salvation, we should think of God. And unlike my grandfather’s shotgun, which will someday rust and decay, our inheritance from God is imperishable, undefiled and will never fade away. God provides protection for his children. We can endure any suffering or hardship because our perspective is that of heaven. One day God’s presence and power will be revealed in the return of Christ.
