Matthew 14:25-33

I am sure you probably remember where you were and exactly what you were doing on September 11, 2001 when terrorists attacked our country. It was an event that scared us, hurt us, and changed us. How do people worship in times of trouble? Take a moment and read this beautiful passage from Matthew 14. Notice in 14:30 that Peter was fine until the winds began to blow. Winds, troubles, and challenges seem to arrive when we least expect them. Peter had the faith to step out of the boat onto the water and walk toward a “ghost.” Why would God allow the wind to blow at a time like that? Maybe God knew that through the difficulty and the winds, his name would be glorified. Just as the disciples did, I hope you will take time today on this anniversary of 9-11 to worship him, even while the winds blow.
