2 Timothy 4:1-2, 1 Peter 3:15

We have defined what evangelism is and who we should share it with. Now let’s take the next few days to discuss how we can share the gospel with others. Today’s Scripture readings encourage us to always be ready, regardless of what is going on in our lives or if it is convenient or inconvenient. In fact, what you are going through today, good or bad, is an opportunity to show others why Jesus is your hope and firm foundation. It’s not always about when we feel comfortable or ready; however, it is about being available and obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Take a moment and read the lyrics from the hymn “The Solid Rock,” by Edward Mote.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
