John 14 is often referred to as “The Comfort Chapter” in the Bible. It starts with Jesus saying, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”
It’s much easier to read these words than to put them into practice, especially when circumstances are trying or downright difficult. The loss of a job. The loss of a loved one. A discouraging medical report. Feeling like you have no friends.
Take Jesus at his word. Attempt to do what he says. Watch and wait for his peace. Claim his promises. “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
