In yesterday’s Bible reading, the psalmist wrote, “You give them to drink of the river of your delights.”
Jesus must have loved that image of God’s people coming to him to have their needs met. Many times, Jesus talked about living water: the woman at the well (John 4:13-14), while teaching the crowds (John 6:35), and again in today’s Bible reading.
Jesus wants to meet our needs, our physical needs and our spiritual needs.
Where do you go when you are in need? Who do you turn to when you are hurting or down? Jesus says, “Come to me and drink. Streams of living water will flow from within.”
