1 Corinthians 15:57-16:3

The question is often asked by new Christians, “How much, if anything, should I give to the Lord and his church?”

The Apostle Paul answers this question twice in these verses. He talked about both a service gift (“always give yourselves fully”) and a monetary gift (“set aside a sum of money keeping with his income”).

You would think Paul would have told us more specifically how much to give, like a tithe. After all, he was a trained rabbi. Instead, Paul leaves it up to you and the Lord.

Questions for the day: Are you giving of yourself fully to the Lord’s work? Is your monetary gift to the church appropriate and in line with your income? Are you a cheerful giver? Talk with the Lord about these questions. Let him guide your thoughts and actions.
