A “Genealogy” of Faith - Hebrews 11:1-40

Throughout history an inordinate amount of value has been placed on bloodlines. On April 29, 2011, the entire western world stopped to witness the wedding of Prince William and Princess Kate, and then did the same on July 22 of this year when Kate gave birth to Prince George, the third in line to succeed his great great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. While it is true bloodlines in the Old Testament were important to a certain extent, God placed a far greater value on the faithfulness of his followers.

Over and over again the writer of Hebrews says, “By faith . . . By faith . . . By faith . . .” Each account should remind us that it is our faith in God that should define who we are – not blood, not money, not appearance, not talent, not intelligence, not athleticism, not power, not anything but FAITH!

Are you living a legacy of faith?
