2 Corinthians 4:7-12
We have this treasure (the gospel, the story of redemption, the truth of Jesus) in jars of clay. God put his treasure in bodies that are broken and breaking. We are fractured and vulnerable, yet he gave us his Holy Spirit and his power. What a humbling truth.
Because of this treasure, even in our vulnerability, we will not be destroyed. The power of evil will press hard, but it will not crush us. We will be perplexed, but we will not be totally overwhelmed with despair. We will be persecuted, but we will not be alone. We will fall down, but we will get up. Just as Jesus Christ conquered death, we will have ultimate victory. There is hope and promise in the midst of life’s struggles.
