The Oasis: An Early Stage Alzheimer’s/ Dementia Program is an outreach ministry of First Baptist Church of Lewisville partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Dallas. This program provides a meeting place for adults with early stage Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementias. Meetings will combine socialization, physical movement, music and other memory stimulating activities in a safe and comfortable environment. The definition of oasis is “a refuge, as from work or stress; haven”. We are providing a safe refuge for the person diagnosed with dementia as well as a worry free refuge for the caregiver. This program will allow caregivers a 4 hour window to attend to their personal needs with the assurance that their loved one is well cared for.
