Dr. Stephen asked us to write about how God has been working in our lives. I decided to write about a time when God worked in my life when I wasn't saved.

It was back during High School. I was bowling in a junior league at Big Town Bowling Lanes, which doesn't exist anymore. Ironically it is, or I should say was, located directly across the street from the current Texas Baptist Men's Disaster Relief center. Any way I was headed home after the league finished and as teenaged boys tend to do, I was driving too fast. The route home took me across a set of railroad tracks and there was never ever a train on the tracks. This time I decided not to check the tracks. Then I heard a voice that said, "Check the tracks!" I looked to the left and there was nothing. I looked to the right and there was a nice big long freight train headed my way. If I had maintained my speed, I would have crossed the tracks just in time to get T-Boned by the train. Needless to say I slammed on the brakes and locked up the tires. Back then cars didn't have anti-lock brakes and the car kept getting closer and closer to the tracks. I was pressing so hard on the brake pedal that I thought it was going to break off. Just as I was getting close to the tracks it was as if an angel was standing there and put their hands on my car and it finally came to a stop. Just then the train passed in front of the car. I could not have been more than a few inches from the train. I wanted to back up, but I did not want to take my foot off of the brake pedal.

If someone states that God does not intervene in the life of non-Christians, they are incorrect. Many years later, I was witnessed to and was saved.
