The Station of the Bread and the Cup

1 Corinthians 11:23-28

The Corinthian church misunderstood most everything. They argued. They competed against one another. They sued one another in court. They tolerated immorality in their membership (5:1). And, they misunderstood the meaning and practice of the Lord’s Supper. Apparently, the congregation gathered for a fellowship meal before they celebrated the Lord’s Supper. Note the issues they brought to bear when they gathered: divisions, prejudice, and lack of self-control.

This coming Thursday, April 2, we will gather to remember our Lord’s death. We will walk the path he took—the path that ended at the cross.
