Proverbs 25:28

What happens when we don’t exercise self-control? Today’s proverb paints a pretty destructive picture. Not only have we let the enemy inside our defenses, the enemy then begins to dismantle us from the inside, leaving us exposed to other attacks. What areas in your life have you let the enemy inside? Where do you need to begin to rebuild your defenses? Take a moment and find rest in Proverbs 3:5-8 (ESV):

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones.
