Idols come in many forms—money, big houses, prestige, and the list goes on. Many times, we think if we could just have “this or that,” we would be set for life. All our focus goes into “things” until that’s all we think about. God tells us in this passage he will quench our thirst and water our dry fields. He will bless our children. Then why do we continually look elsewhere when God lovingly wants to take care of us? May we all turn to him and not the things of this world.
