Judas had premeditated his betrayal and had planned it in detail. He just waited for the right time to carry it out. We know from other passages that as soon as the deed was done, Judas' conscience immediately came alive. He found himself in a hell of his own making. (See Matthew 27:3-4.) His remorse was not one of repentance, but one of regret that his actions did not satisfy him the way he imagined. Think about the difference between the two in your own life. Is your heart repentant?
