In Jewish culture, it was believed that suffering was the result of some great sin. But Jesus uses this man and his healing to teach about faith and to glorify God. In your time of suffering, do you put your trust in God? Do you give him the glory?
If God took suffering away every time we asked him to, we would follow him out of comfort and convenience not out of love and devotion. Do you find yourself asking, “Why is this happening to me?” Do you ever question God? Maybe we should be asking for strength, courage, and what we are to be learning through difficult times. Give him the glory!
