John 7:45-53

Officers who were sent to take Jesus were so impressed with his teaching that they did not comply with the request of the chief priests and Pharisees. On the other hand, the chief priests and Pharisees were so adamantly against the Lord that they became angry and frustrated. Jesus was a threat to their religious leadership and erroneous beliefs. In the midst of the bickering, one bold believer stood up to the leaders and questioned them. It was none other than Nicodemus, a leader in the Synagogue, who came to Jesus by night (John 3). Along with Joseph of Arimathea, another disciple of Jesus, they obtained the body of Jesus from Pilate after his crucifixion, prepared it for burial, and laid it in Joseph’s tomb which had never been used before. Are we ready and willing to stand up for our Lord when it is not a popular thing to do?
