Hebrews 7:11-17

In these verses, the writer asserts that the Old Testament Priest, Melchizedek, is superior to Aaron and his descendants. (You can find his story in Genesis 14). The writer identifies Jesus as a priest like Melchizedek, one who will serve forever. Why would God make such a major change? Because both the priests of the Old Testament and the Law were imperfect. All the Old Testament practices have been replaced by the work of Jesus.
