John 7:19-24

The Pharisees believed they could circumcise on the Sabbath because of Moses’s law, but Jesus couldn’t heal the sick because that was work. What was the intent here? The Pharisees were going to carry out the law no matter what day it was. After all, it was the law! Did Jesus heal the sick for show or because he had compassion for the sick? 7:24 tells us not to judge the outward appearance but what is authentically right. Do you look at the heart-motive when you question someone’s actions or are you quick to condemn them?
