Jesus had constant interaction with his Father, and we can believe that he had been praying about Lazarus for some time. He was confident that his Father listened to him. He knew God was listening to him just as he does for us. Too many times, our prayers are arrogant and foolish when we assume how God will answer them. Our prayers are confident when we affirm God listens. Our confidence comes not from what we pray for or how we pray but to whom we pray. God does not require volume or repetition. Our whispered prayers are heard in heaven as loudly as the lofty voices spoken by thousands. God listens when we pray!
Remember that our God is one of power, one who weeps, one who cares, and one who listens!
