Jonah 4:9-11

The book ends in a pathetic way. God points out Jonah’s root problem. He cared much for a plant that he did not plant or own. Yet, he showed no compassion for people who needed God. God even included animals into his sphere of concern.

Jonah’s bias and bigotry prevented him from rejoicing in the salvation of thousands. With this thought, the book ends.

Lessons from the Book of Jonah

1. God is sovereign. He used all of his creation to accomplish his purpose.

2. God loves ALL people.

3. God is in control.

4. We are accountable to God.

5. People can change.

6. Repentance requires works.
