Stage Two: The Spiritual Infant/Child

Hebrews 10:24-25

Children need family to help them grow and be healthy. Spiritual children need a church family for the same reason. Yet so many followers of Christ believe that they can mature outside of a connection to a local church. In simpler terms, what would it say about your connection to your family if you never celebrated birthdays, holidays, or took vacations together? Or if you decided that your family would reserve celebrations for every other year? Your family connection would be weak. Similarly, if Christ-followers never or sporadically come to celebrate in corporate worship or dig deeper in Bible study, they won’t mature as God intended. What is the strength of your commitment to the First Baptist Church family? In what ways has this contributed to your recent spiritual growth or stagnation?
