Isaiah 31:1-9

Since Israel did not seek or trust in God, they searched frantically for some outside means of salvation. Christ wants us to recognize our need for him.

We can look to the government to save us; we can look for shortcuts to get us through the next day. None of these have lasting solutions.

God sometimes uses hard times and troubles to get our attention. If we want to see the situation truly resolved, to see God’s power fighting for us while we watch, then we must turn to Christ, ask for help, and confess our need for his salvation, forgiveness, and provision. And then we have to trust him to love us, show us his love, and teach us to love him more. We must trust and obey the direction of Jesus Christ. What do you trust in rather than looking to or waiting on God?
