Stage Two: The Spiritual Infant/Child

Matthew 11:28-30

Learning to walk is a developmental milestone that signals an infant’s physical health and growing independence. Any parent can tell you of the joy of stretching out hands to a toddler learning to walk. Seeing them take their shaky first steps is enough to make your heart skip a beat! Learning to walk spiritually is much the same. Our Father God stretches out his arms to us and says, “Come to me.” He sees our spiritual steps as a loving Father. Father God is thrilled even at our attempts! He cheers us on. He teaches. He is gentle with us as we learn, as we fall, and as we get back up. What about you? When is the last time you attempted to take spiritual steps, even small ones, toward your Father God? What about today?
