“Please Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon? I call all times soon,” said Aslan (from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader). The Bible speaks of chronos or chronological time and kairos time—opportune, appointed time. God’s time isn’t ours. His names confirm this. He is The Beginning, The End, and I AM, to name a few. As we prepare for Christ’s coming this Christmas, many of us seated in the waiting room of life with unanswered prayers, how does God’s timing affect the way we live? It gives us hope. God is not slow in keeping his promises. He is always right, and right on time—lovingly right on time.
