The Ugly Preparations

Peter witnessed and experienced firsthand the fulfillment of the prophecies given by Isaiah and other prophets concerning the Messiah. Following Jesus’ resurrection, Peter was compelled to spread the good news: Jesus was and is the fulfillment of God’s promises.

Peter knew Jesus as “the light shining in dark places.” Peter remembered Jesus’ words: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

Peter wrote to assure all Christ-followers that no matter how dark or ugly the sin of the world may be, Jesus is “the light of the world.” As we celebrate Christ’s birth, remember to let your light shine!” The world is watching and waiting for this good news!
