Introduction to The Hollow

Job’s Friends

Job 8:1-7

In chapter 7, Job poured out his grief and was waiting to hear a sympathetic word, but his friend said that Job’s speech was full of hot air. Bildad was so concerned about defending the justice of God that he forgot the needs of his friend. When dealing with hurting people, we must take a cue from Jesus’ encounter with the Woman at the Well. He did not accost the woman verbally, nor did he hold her sins over her. He comforted her with a genuine concern for her well-being and gave her the hope of a new life.
