14 Days of the Old Testament in the New Testament

Matthew 15:11
It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.

August 19 – Matthew 21:42-46
During the final week of his life, Jesus spoke about his mission. After telling two parables, he quoted Psalm 118:22-23 in Matthew 21:42. In its original setting, the psalm most likely referred to a king who did great things and won great battles, but one who was always viewed as insignificant. As the Old Testament king ascended to greatness, so the Son of God, though misunderstood and viewed as weak and lowly, would be the very foundation of the church. Your will find this same Old Testament passage quoted in 1 Peter 2:4-8.
