Matthew 6:19-24

In a July 2016 article from, Patrick Nelson wrote, “We’re obsessed with our phones, a new study has found. The heaviest smartphone users click, tap or swipe on their phone 5,427 times a day, according to researcher Dscout. That’s the top 10 percent of phone users, so one would expect it to be excessive. However, the rest of us still touch the addictive things 2,617 times a day on average. No small number.”

Whether we acknowledge it or not, we know that things most important to us can be revealed by where we spend our money and where we spend our time. Take the time right now to make an inventory of both. It may be you still have a flip phone and know nothing about social media, but there are a myriad of other masters that might be consuming your pocketbook and the bulk of your days and nights.

Where is your treasure?
