I, normally, do not send out personal prayer requests, but I ask for your prayers in the coming days. Our church supports the B. H. Carroll Theological Institute. This institution provides quality education for those preparing for vocational ministry. Call us a graduate school or seminary.
We have a cohort of students in Cuba. Most of these students are pastors, serving house church congregations. Now that travel to Cuba is more open than it has been for decades, we have the opportunity to teach our Cuban students in a face-to-face setting. I am traveling to central Cuba—the city of Camaguey—to teach for a week. Dr. Gene Wilkes, President of Carroll, will teach a Pastoral Leadership course and I will teach through Paul’s letter to the Philippians. Adlin Cotto, our translator, and Natalie Powell, a student at Carroll who wants to take these courses and experience the culture of Cuba as well, will join us.
Dr. Randel Everett will preach in my absence this Sunday, September 18. Randel and Sheila are part of our congregation. Their ministry focus is on the persecuted church through the entity called The 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative. Look them up on the web to understand the challenges many believers face across the world.
I look forward to my time with students/pastors in Cuba. And I look forward to my return as well.
See you on Sunday, September 25,
