Matthew 21:1-11

Jesus entered Jerusalem on the first day of the last week of his life. He was lauded and welcomed with palm branches by the crowd. But by Tuesday, the cheers turned to jeers.

The people expected Jesus to be a king—a warrior. But he came into the city riding on a donkey. He did not brandish a sword. Simply put, Jesus was not the kind of messiah the people expected or wanted.

In our day, we must confront the same issue. What kind of messiah do you believe Jesus to be?
