Isaiah 41:13-14

Kate Chenault, grade 5

When my family and I were going back-to-school shopping (the week before school started in August), my grandmamma fell and got hurt very badly. I didn’t know what to do or what was happening. I was so scared. Shocked. Horrified. Everything. So I prayed. And when I prayed, I heard a voice. I asked, “God, is that you?” He didn’t reply out loud, but I had a feeling in my soul that He knew that I knew it was Him talking with me. He kept telling me, “Your grandmother will be okay. She will live for a while now; she will not die.” I felt relieved for I knew God was going to lift the worry from my shoulders; from my entire body.

I know when God says something, you should never doubt Him. God helped me know I wasn’t going to lose my grandmother that night. “‘For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid, … for I myself will help you,’ declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel” (Isaiah 41:13-14 NIV).
