The Station of The Cross

Luke 24:1-12

It’s the ultimate underdog story. It’s the ending with a twist that no one sees coming. But in God’s economy, death brings life and all things work for good. But to the apostle, to the follower that morning, no one thought Jesus’ claims, life and ministry amounted to anything. The last three years of devotion, learning and ministry were useless. And then…then the resurrection—Jesus’ surprise ending, LIFE never-ending—changed everything! Someday, they would understand the day he died, they died. Someday, they would understand that because he had risen, so would they. But for now, they wondered, some even doubted. And even on this side of the resurrection, some of us still wonder and even doubt. But someday, one day, we will understand that Jesus’ victory is ours—over the struggles of life and death, over sin, over cancer, over divorce, over addiction, over loneliness, over our brokenness. Jesus’ surprise ending is ours. We win! Hallelujah! What a Savior!
