I Commit to Telling His Story

Romans 10:13-17

This week’s Daily Bible Readings focus on the commitment of First Baptist Church to carry the message of Jesus to our community, in secular terms: “marketing.” One of the core principles of marketing is defining how you are going to communicate your message and to whom you are going to promote it. “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, ‘Your God reigns’” (Isaiah 52:7, ESV). Marketing sometimes has a negative stigma attached to it. This is especially true when you talk about marketing in the context of the church. At its simplest, though, marketing involves a message you want people to hear and then act upon. Who is going to hear the message if no one tells them? We have to take the gospel with us wherever we go and share it with everyone. Scripture commends those who deliver the message!
