I Commit to Discipleship

1 Corinthians 11:1-2

Who first told you about Jesus? Was it a parent, another family member, a Bible Study teacher, a friend? Who invested in you once you gave your life to Christ? Whoever it was, these people were disciple-makers. They were trying to show and lead you down the path of following Christ.

In today’s scripture, the Apostle Paul again instructed the believers to “follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”

People are always watching. If we claim the name of “Christian,” then others are watching to see if and how Christ makes a difference in our lives. Can you say to your children (or to whoever happens to be watching): “Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ.” If not, why not? If yes, you’re likely well on your way to being a disciple-maker.
