I Commit to His World

Acts 8:25-40

While it is great to pray fervently and to give of your resources sacrificially, it is another thing entirely to leave most everything you own behind to spread God’s message to a person or group of people about which you know next to nothing. And even though not everyone is called to be a vocational missionary, we are all called to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and are empowered by the Holy Spirit with the skill set required to get the job done.

In Acts, we see God arranging the conditions of the universe with the sole purpose of bringing his Word to a high ranking Ethiopian official who was on the brink of giving himself completely to Christ, but who needed a nudge of assistance. God chose Philip to be that “nudge.”

When we say, “I commit to HIS world,” we are agreeing to make ourselves available to be God’s witnesses whether it is across the street or across the ocean. It could very well be that as you read this, God is preparing the heart of someone you will cross paths with today or tomorrow—someone who needs that guidance from you. Like Philip, will you be obedient to the call? Will you allow the Holy Spirit to speak the truth this lost person so desperately needs to hear? If you will, then fasten your seatbelt, because God is truly about to rock your world!
