Amped summer worship camp will be next week, July 27-31, from 9am to 12pm, for children who have completed grades 1 through 5. Registration will continue through Monday morning, July 27.
During the week, our kids will learn the music, motions, and message for the children’s musical, Here for the Gold. This very relevant musical tells the story of a group of kids who write and produce a web-streaming live show to spread the message of what is really important in life. Instead of worldly material, like “cash in your pocket” or the latest “i-thing,” they focus on the truths from the parables of Jesus, such as building a firm foundation, forgiving others, loving their neighbors, and letting their light shine to glorify God. But when a lovable but clueless hacker named CG hijacks their show, the kids do their best to explain to her that the treasure they’re talking about can’t be dug out of a mine and is not buried under the sea.
Amped is always a wonderful week for our children and it is also a wonderful service outlet for our Priority and Voice of Praise students who serve as our Music Police. We have two great afternoon optional activities planned for Tuesday, July 28, at the Flower Mound Community Activity Center, and Wednesday, July 27, at Zone Action Park. Amped is such a great opportunity for our students to get to know and minister to our children.
After a great week of hard work and a lot of fun, on Friday, July 31, an acting cast of 23, 15 soloists, and our great Amped children’s choir will present Here for the Gold in the Worship Center at 12pm. If you can, please make plans to come and encourage our kids with your presence and raucous applause.
