SHIFT: Hope For Grieving Kids and Teens

“Two years ago, one of my 4th grade students lost his mom to cancer.  As he came into my classroom, the day after she died, he just stood in front of his locker and cried.  I didn’t know what to do to make him feel better, so I just held him as he cried.”  - Barbara Rowell

“My 8 yr. old son recently lost his father last October.  He is struggling to be able to speak of his father without becoming very sad.  Since GriefShare has been a lifesaver for me, I would love to be able to offer my son the same opportunity for healing his heart and finding friendships with those experiencing similar losses.”  - Kelly Reesor

WHAT CAN WE DO AS A CHURCH?

When the “shifts” of life occur, the aftermath is unpredictable and rarely stable. Our hope for kids dealing with the loss of a loved one is that, as they process the shift they’ve undergone, they’ll be equipped with the tools they need to build a solid foundation of faith and hope through Jesus. Read through the information below and ask God if he wants you to become involved.
