Opportunities present challenges. They always do. Now that we anticipate the Troy Freemen family becoming a part of our church family, we need to pray for the challenges that accompany this opportunity.
Here’s a prayer checklist—
1. Their house in the Tampa, Florida, area that needs to sell
2. A house in our area to open up for the Freemans
3. Their present church as they bid goodbye to friends and colleagues
Hopefully, the entire family will be able to relocate together within the next few weeks.
We owe a big thank you to some folks who kept our music ministry moving forward during this interim period. Missy Iley, Rob Peterman, Brad Williamson, and Daniel Bloss covered worship planning, adult choir, and our student choirs with excellence. Enlisting Allen Hightower from the faculty of the University of North Texas to lead our Christmas music was a stroke of genius. Jenny Kress and Ruth Ann Frye, our pianist and organist, played with distinction. Elizabeth Bowen kept our orchestra in perfect tune and, of course, our Music Ministry Assistants, Ari Voss and Jen Shelby, made sure details were covered. I wondered a time or two if we needed a Worship Pastor!
Don’t forget the prayer checklist mentioned above.
See you Sunday,
Stephen G. Hatfield
